.::Here In My Cell::.
Death awaits me
Surrounding me in a choking grasp
Sleep evades me
There’s no escape
My only companions
The flesh covered bones
A demon’s minions
All scattered upon the floor
Screams shatter the silence
Cold fear numbs my back
As I am forced to listen to the violence
That is driving me closer to madness
Here in my cell
I lay in wait
For the Reaper to tell
Who’s soul will next be his.
.::Sapphires and Diamonds::.
The rain ceases its cascade,
The day lily fades, withers then wilts,
Under the scrutiny of so harsh a glare.
Return the hand to the air,
Shatter the sapphires, scatter the diamonds.
Leave a heart that no longer beats, in a frozen wasteland,
Douse the candles, turn from the light.
Abandon a soul once yours, no longer mine, and banish its might.
Embrace the emptiness,
Breathe the abyss of oblivion,
Shade the moon’s silhouette,
And fall from the graceful pirouette.
.::Chorus of Life::.
Eyes slide shut
Breath deepens and slows
Stars burst forth
Bathing the darkness in silvery light
Moments creep past
Never seeming to last
Darkness closes in
The stars are gone
No longer pinpoints of light
They burst into flight
Collecting to form one shape
And in the blink of an eye
There they stand
Shadowed by a silvery band
The heart's true desire
Love's true form
Their face is hidden
As though forbidden
For they have yet to enter
The chorus of life
I'm losing my grip.
can't stop the trip,
even as the mind begins to fumble.
laugh so hard tears fall from the eye.
so may tears I lose track,
and think I'm meant to cry.
I know I'm about to crack.
I can feel it happening all over again.
I try to resist,
but it's pulling me in.
the fear is filling me, never to desist,
I can hear it now, beginning to swell.
the voices, a chorus of croaking,
a cacophony I know only too well.
first comes the fights,
then the guilt,
and sleepless nights.
it's all coming back at full tilt.
it's the pain, the sorrow
the hurt, and the blame
I'm done with it all, and by tomorrow
I'll find a way to put an end to this vile game.
it'll be all right,
I'll put a stop to this calamity,
and never again have to fight
for control of my sanity.
Oh precious gems!
Emerald and piercing,
You shine in the night.
There is no need to hide.
Let the world see the light
That's been hidden behind closed lids.
Spring is here, oh glowing twins!
The earthkeepers rejoice
As the trees sprout leaves.
So come out and play!
Join the growing greenery.
Open your lids and shine
Oh emerald eyes of mine.
Touch not, the frozen petals of glass,
For with even the softest caress, all beauty shatters.
Wipe not, away the rolling tears,
When fraying seams are worn to tatters.
Take not, the faithful leap,
When taking flight on wings feathered with lace.
Gaze not, with eyes yet with sight,
When casting longing glances upon her face.
Look not, onto the shining starry surface,
But search the soul through portals of cobalt sea.
See not, as those before,
For there is more to the labyrinth that is she.
.::Walk With Me::.
Take my hand
And walk me to the gates
There's no other land
That serves such cruel fates
To feel love is pain
But its become an addiction
Its playing with fire in the freezing rain
And only death is my retribution
So take a walk with me
Walk to the edge with me
Open your eyes and see
I step off the ledge, let my soul fly free
Don't just walk away
Please take my hand
Your hold over me won't sway
If you leave me in this wasteland
I need a new conviction
This one's too full of pain
What once was my salvation
No longer keeps me sane
Take a walk with me
Walk to the edge of infinity
Break away, set me free
Walk with me into divinity
Cold sweeps the world around,
There’s emptiness in every breath.
A weary knock echoes across the silence.
Moments pass, eerily creeping by,
Heart beats counting the eternity.
Another knock, sounding a last glimmer of hope.
The door cracks open, then is flung wide.
The cold is swept away by a warm embrace,
No longer alone, the emptiness is gone.
Weariness seeps out of the body,
Time seems to slow, yet flies by.
Step over the threshold, close the door.
Heart pounds a spastic cadence as lips meet,
Welcoming home the weary traveler.
